It was an honor to chat with Greg Oliva for this episode. Based in Los Angeles, Greg is a Member of the community development team working with dedicated Mo Bros and Mo Sisters from around the US to support them in their efforts to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. He works for Movember as their Community Development Manager. He shared so much information that was new to me and it's so worth taking time on the Movember.com website to learn about the scary numbers regarding men's mental and physical health. Just to name a couple: 3 out of 4 suicides are men and there's one a minute. Meaning just during this podcast alone, 60 men have taken their life.

Greg not only talks about the stats but he talks about all the tools continually being developed to stop this number in it's tracks and preventing men from dying too early.

Movember has long been my favorite charity and causes. It’s the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Movember is best known for their campaign they do in November where November 1st you clean shave your face and grow a statue throughout the month which opens up conversations to others. They also have a way to create your own Mo-Community on their website and have friendly competitions for raising funds for more research and prevention tools. Movember has given the largest donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The charity raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programs that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives. Committed to disrupting the status quo, millions have joined the movement, helping fund over 1,250 projects around the world. In addition to tackling key health issues faced by men, Movember is working to encourage men to stay healthy in all areas of their life, with a focus on men staying socially connected and becoming more open to discussing their health and significant moments in their lives.

The charity’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health. To donate or learn more, please visit Movember.com.

Hope you enjoy this conversation and please share it with the men in your life!
